Summer Progress Amidst Uncertainty
As we transition from the holiday season into the summer months, I wanted to update you on the latest developments at the Galilee Culinary Institute by Jewish National Fund USA (GCI). The war in the north is escalating, but true to our resilient spirit, we continue to forge ahead with our work and mission.
Unfortunately, due to the increasing intensity of the conflict, it's impossible to provide a definitive opening date for our first cohort at this time. Our goal is to update everyone by September 15th, but this means our anticipated November start date will not be feasible. While this uncertainty is challenging, we are doing everything within our power to stay on course and make informed decisions.
Despite these setbacks, we are making significant progress in other areas. We are building strong relationships with industry leaders in the north to ensure our farm is developed with the best expertise available. Work on visas and programming is ongoing, and we are optimistic about the progress being made. The buildings are also making progress, dorms are getting close to being completed.
Looking ahead, we have several exciting opportunities on the horizon. We plan to attend events focused on food and ag tech, and we have team meetings scheduled in the south with Russell Robinson. Additionally, we’ve been featured on ILTV news, showcasing our hard work and dedication. You can check that out here.
There is a lot happening, and we are determined to keep moving forward. Thank you for your continued support and patience during these uncertain times. I look forward to providing you with more updates as we navigate these challenges together.
Have a great summer, and stay tuned for further updates.
L’chaim!
