Reflections on Resilience and Unity on Tisha B'Av

Today marks Tisha B'Av, a day that holds profound historical and emotional significance for us as we remember the destruction of the first and second Temples. It's a day that reminds us of the crucial need for Ahavat Yisroel—love for our fellow friends. Especially now, as we face increasing threats and challenges in Israel, this message of unity and compassion is more pertinent than ever.

The situation here has been particularly tough, with our friends and family directly impacted by the escalating conflict. Amidst these trials, the support we've received from our partners at JNF USA, and the broader GCI community has been invaluable. Your solidarity helps reinforce our resolve to continue our mission, no matter the adversity we face.

In the spirit of resilience, I want to highlight an exemplary figure within our community—my wife. Since the onset of the war, she has been dedicated to providing Shabbat meals to our troops. While many have ceased their efforts, she presses on, embodying the relentless spirit of our nation. Her actions serve as a beacon of hope and a testament to the impact of steadfast kindness.

As we reflect on today's solemn commemoration, let us also remember the resilience that has defined our history. There will always be a tomorrow, and our commitment is to keep moving forward, adapting and thriving in whatever ways we can. The goal is not merely to endure but to rebuild the north to its fullest potential, and together, I believe we can achieve this.

Please keep us in your prayers and stay safe during these challenging times. May we soon see days of peace and prosperity, where unity and kindness prevail.

L’chaim!
