The Little One - nut free bakery

Business of the Month: The Little One Nut-Free Bakery

Israel’s Little One Nut-Free Bakery Takes the Cake – When It Comes To Avoiding Allergies!

The Little One Nut Free Bakery was born out of necessity. Verdiana Giusti moved to Israel from Italy, and she found that she loved Israeli food and pastries –  but was faced with a challenge with the birth of her son, who has an allergy to all nuts, peanuts and sesame.  In a land where peanut butter puffs called “ Bamba” are a staple, it’s super hard to navigate the allergy world.

Determined not to let her son feel left out,  she created her own baking business, designed to cater to people who can not find allergen-free pastries, cakes, cookies, challahs, and breads. She caters to the gluten-free crowd as well.  Around Chanukah, she takes endless orders of sufganiyot and on Purim, hamentashen galore. But what takes the cake? She makes stunning  customized cakes for occasions like Bar and Bat  Mitzvahs, weddings, and more.

Unfortunately, Israel just doesn’t have that many opportunities on the allergy front, and Verdiana is here to make change. It’s hard to find cake that is allergen-free, unless it’s packaged and commercial (even finding packaged is a challenge). Though most are aware of the dangers of allergies,  people often don’t realize the emotional impact of suffering from an allergy.  This is particularly true for children; kids with allergies often face a lot of situations like birthday parties in which they feel excluded or feel like they are missing out on opportunities open to their peers. Whether that’s, toppling cakes with delicious swirls of buttercream to decadent layers of riched chocolate, it all can be done.

When ordering, every customer gets a thorough meeting to understand every aspect of the allergy and what is in their dream pastry, cake.  More than just delicious treats, these sweet creations cater to all the particular needs of the people they are created for!
