Michael is the executive chef and co-owner of several restaurants and establishments, from Philadelphia’s Zahav and Federal Donuts to Dizengoff, Abe Fisher, and Goldie. Michael’s work has won him several James Beard Awards, including the Best Chef, Mid-Atlantic (2011), and Outstanding Chef awards in 2017.

He has received endless accolades for his experience putting Israeli cuisine on the map, including being nominated for Outstanding Chef year after year and winning a spot in Food & Wine Magazine’s 2018 “40 Most Important Restaurants of the Past 40 Years” list.

He is also the co-author of three award-winning cookbooks, including Zahav: A World of Israeli Cooking, which earned him the prestigious “ Book of the Year” prize and “Best International Cookbook” in 2016.
