Business of the Month: EatSane

EatSane, Bread, and Chocolate That are Redefining the Low-Carb Landscape

Are you watching your carbs? Are you struggling to find the right foods to balance your blood sugar?

Imagine decadent pralines, rich loaves of bread, and sweets that are not only low in carbs but also free of artificial sweeteners. EatSane, an Israeli startup founded by an endocrinologist and a lawyer, is changing the game for anybody looking to lower their carb intake.

Dr. Mariela Glandt is a leading world-renowned endocrinologist and has been treating patients with diabetes for over 20 years. For the past 6 years, she changed her practice to support a low-carb diet as the primary tool to reverse diabetes, achieving a reversal rate of 55% in her patients.

Finding the lifestyle that worked best for diabetes may have been natural, but the problem was that people living with diabetes lacked exciting food options. Even if sweets were available, they were loaded with artificial sweeteners. Dr. Glandt had developed some diabetes-friendly pralines and when Ran Hirsch’s diabetic daughter sampled them and loved them, a sweet partnership was born.

The duo collaborated and founded Eatsane, a line of bread, chocolates, and sweets that are low in carb and free of artificial sweeteners.

The breads are based on nut flours, a combination of nuts, almonds, and seeds and they have a fifth of the amount of carbs found in regular bread. The bread has 65 calories per slice, is high in protein, and no artificial sweeteners or preservatives. The products are also vegan, low in cholesterol, keto-friendly, and have a stamp of approval by the Israel Diabetes Association. The pralines have 1.8 grams of carbs and are high in protein.

After a successful launch in Israel with rave reviews, the duo are beginning their expansion across the US with their first POC (proof of concept) in New England and later New York, California and other US.cities, and eventually Canada. EatSane is making waves in the diabetes world, making sure that everyone can have their carbs and their chocolate too!
